ROBOCLOUD TROUBLES INFORMATION

Hi Robocrafters,

Firstly, we are very sorry for all of the server troubles since yesterday. We have been working hard with our service provider to try and fix it for you and are still working on it now.

We released a minor update yesterday which contained a few bug fixes. This update triggered huge spikes in API calls to Robocloud which was taking it down completely whenever the number of users online rose above around 6 thousand. Robocloud actually operates on Yahoo’s servers using their API so we have been working with them to try to figure out what is happening.

Neither Yahoo’s engineers or Freejam’s could isolate the issue, so we rolled back the update. The previous update (released on the 17th Dec) contained the Ski’s and the Christmas present anyway (we were waiting until yesterday to unlock them as a surprise) so rolling back would mean simply losing the bug fixes we had put in.

Unfortunately, even rolling back did not fix the issue. Even with the old client and server code from Dec 17th the game is exhibiting the same problems. We are investigating whether it is a malicious attack, or if it was an automatic update to the servers or API that occurred and double / tripple checking everything code side to try to isolate the problem to fix it for you ASAP.

Once we have resolved the problem, we will do what we can to reimburse all of you that have lost Premium due to the down time and will issue another Promo Code (with something more than just a 1 day Premium).

Thank you for all your patience. We know you are frustrated and want to play. We are really at least as frustrated as you. We just want to bring you some cool new stuff and a load of bug fixes just before Xmas, so having this happen is pretty soul destroying for us.
