So we wanted to take some time out to let you know what we’re working on at the moment as we have tons in the pipe so wanted to communicate some of it to everyone.

NEXT MAJOR LAUNCH


This is the main thing we’re working on at the moment. Most of the dev team are focused on this. We don’t want to reveal too many details at the moment, but we will say this – It will release in early December. It will be our biggest ever launch to date. It will contain several major new component types resulting in many new classes of Robot, some for high Tier and some for low Tier. It will shake T10 up completely, and there will be something else that is HUGE.

On top of that we’re doing a bunch of other stuff at the same time – all with our little dev team of 10 guys.

OVERWOLF

Freejam is working with Overwolf to integrate it’s API so that the coders among you can use it to extend Robocraft by writing apps:

- If you want to video chat with your Platoon in realtime whilst in game, and see the video feed of each of your Platoon members web cams overlaid in your HUD, it will be easy to make an app for that
- If you want to link Team Speak to your friend list, so you can speak to your friends automatically whenever they are online, it will be easy to make an app for that
- If you want to play a Spotify playlist you’ve specifically created for when you’re battling on any Mars planet, it will be easy to make an app for that

Overwolf will have Robocraft game supported in a basic fashion in November, and will extend that in early next year. When it goes live in November we’ll support it with a bunch of custom content, some paid for (a Overwolf Robot), and some available to everyone (think Robowolf legs and some more armor similar to our Halloween stuff), and of course a bunch of Free Premium.

THANKS GIVING AND BLACK FRIDAY

We’re trying to figure out what to do for Thanks Giving and Black Friday too as it would be a shame for Robocraft to be the only game in the world not to have something related to Thanks Giving in it, but we will refrain from Turkey Legs, you can be assured of that.

FRIENDS, PLATOONS & LOBBY

If you’ve been playing Robocraft for a while you will know that the Friends, Platoons and Lobby system sucks. Friends you know are online, don’t always appear as online, inviting to Platoons is unreliable, and lobby’s sometimes lockup and don’t launch games.

This is all due to the core 3rd party tech we use for this stuff not really being designed to handle as many users as we have and for some time now it’s been creaking at the seams. So, Ed and one of our new coders Alex have been working on moving this over to a new technology that is commonly used in many large multiplayer games that we know can handle it. The friends part is scheduled to launch as an update Monday next week if everything goes to plan, and once the initial teething problems are out of the way we’ll role out the lobby stuff. The idea is to have the lobby stuff all rockin’ and rollin’ and stable ready for the huge launch early Dec.

ROBOSHIELD

The EAC guys are working hard on solving the various EAC issues. They’ve fixed a ton of issues already, but they’re aware of some users who are still not able to play. Our aim is to ensure everyone who wants to play, can play. Our customer support has been bolstered with a new full time ‘Support Jammer’ who is dedicated to answering your support emails, FB messages, tweets, etc. so we can get that turnaround time down. If you’re still having issues playing since Roboshield, please contact us here ‘Contact Freejam’ and we will work with you one-to-one until you get a satisfactory resolution to your problem. Issues aside, we are pleased to report that our logs are showing a drastic reduction in the levels of hacking in game.
